Electroplating Department Supervisor

The Electroplating Department Supervisor is responsible for safety, regulatory compliance, production and improvement of a captive copper/nickel electroplating department in our Chicago facility (near Jefferson Park). Facility accessible to two train lines and bus service. Among other responsibilities, the Electroplating Department Supervisor is expected to:

• Implement and maintain systems for ensuring the safety of workers in the area
• Train workers in chemical safety procedures and use of protective gear
• Revise and maintain chemical spill emergency procedures
• Supervise 10 employees in the department to fulfill production and productivity requirements
• Monitor and control the quality of the chemistry used in the plating baths
• Monitor and improve the quality of goods produced by the department
• Maintain and improve the effectiveness of the wastewater treatment plant
• Work with regulatory agencies to comply with all applicable effluent and emissions requirements
• Work with engineering department to define and implement custom finishes as needed for new products

This position is a good opportunity for a lab technician or plating quality technician to move up and take on departmental supervisory management responsibilities.

The Electroplating Department Supervisor will be selected based on the following criteria:

• Previous experience in electroplating required. Experience with copper cyanide and acid nickel chemistries preferred. Experience with barrel and rack plating methods preferred.
• Previous lab experience preferred. Candidates must be familiar with Hull Cell testing, titration, and acid/base chemistry.
• BS or AS in Chemistry or Environmental Science preferred.
• Previous experience with automated waste treatment systems preferred.
• Previous supervision experience preferred.
• Must be able to wear protective gear, including respirator, for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs on a daily basis.
• Candidates with good oral and written communications skills preferred.
ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT

Switchcraft® is a U.S. manufacturer of connectors, jacks, plugs, molded cable assemblies, patchbays, and switches. Our products are used in a wide variety of industries including medical, GPS, process control, transportation, homeland security, broadcast and pro audio. We are conveniently located on the northwest side of Chicago and currently have an opening for an Accounting Assistant. The Accounting Assistant is responsible for all aspects of accounts payable. Duties include verification and reconciliation of vouchers, invoices, and expense reports, prioritizing prioritizes payments by preparing ACH batches, wire transfer documentation, and check runs.

The accounting Assistant is responsible for resolving issues between accounting and suppliers and responds to vendor inquires by researching and correcting discrepancies.

Duties also include accurate coding of MRO purchases and maintaining logs and documents.

The Accounting Assistant prepares various journal entries at month end and completing and distributing Forms 1096 an 1099 annually. MAINTENANCE MECHANIC

Switchcraft® is a U.S. manufacturer of connectors, jacks, plugs, molded cable assemblies, patchbays, and switches. Our products are used in a wide variety of industries including medical, GPS, process control, transportation, homeland security, broadcast and pro audio. We are conveniently located on the northwest side of Chicago.
Switchcraft is currently looking for a Maintenance Mechanic. This position is responsible for the maintenance and repair of manual, semi-automatic and fully automated production equipment using hand tools, power tools, and precision-measuring and testing instruments. Candidate must have the ability to set up and operate lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts. Position requires both mechanical aptitude and electrical experience. We are looking for an individual who will be a self starter and be able to work with minimal supervision and adhere to safety rules.

EASTERN REGIONAL SALES MANAGER

Switchcraft, Inc., located on the Northwest side of Chicago is a leading manufacturer of a broad line of components for the audio, video, telecommunication, computer, medical, military, appliance, transportation and instrumentation industries. We are currently seeking a high-energy self-starter for our Eastern Regional Sales Manager position. Position is based in our corporate office in Chicago. Candidate must possess superior technical selling skills and a minimum of 5 years selling connectors and cable assemblies.

This position is responsible for managing sales representatives, distributors and developing new OEM customers in the region. The regional manager will be responsible for training, motivation, and field sales visits in the region. Individual will attend relevant trade shows and be able to provide feedback on industry competitor activity, application opportunities and pricing. Individual must be able to develop and execute a sales plan, including forecasts and budgeting revenues for the region.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree (preferably in technical field)
5+ years experience
Travel 30-40%
